The Patient Welfare Society (PWS) of Shaikh Zayed Hospital (SZH), Lahore arranged a charity programme at a local hotel on Monday. Addressing the occasion, Shaikh Zayed Hospital Chairman and Dean Professor Dr Muhammad Saeed said that the money collected from this charity would only be used for the treatment of poor patients. He said it was a misconception that the hospital was funded by the United Arab Emirates Royal family.
“Factually, the SZH gets 40 percent of its funds from the government of Pakistan and 60 percent of the funds are generated through its services to patients,” he said. The chairman stressed the need to generate more funds for deserving patients. He praised Vice President Seemi Elahi and M M Khan for their support in the noble cause. He also thanked all the philanthropists who had donated money to the hospital. Dr Saeed assured the donors that their money would only be used for the welfare of the poor patients.
