Pakistan Tehrike-Insaf’s (PTI)’s local chapter President Mir Rameez has said that the civil and military leadership that stood before US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and General Mike Mullen with folded hands cannot rid the country of US terrorism.
Talking to reporters on Monday, he said if the incumbent rulers got more time at the helm, they would put the country’s sovereignty in American hands. He said people stood by the armed forces even today although the military had disappointed them time and again. The said the Abbotabad and Karachi incidents occurred only because of Raymond Davis’s shameful release. “The rulers and the armed forces have made the country easy prey for the US and the people now ask if the armed forces are not secure, who is going to protect the life and property of the masses,” he added. He said that the commission holding an enquiry into the Mehran Naval base attack was headed by a naval commander who himself should have been probed first.
He said the country’s economy had been destroyed in the US war. “People are deprived of basic facilities such as education, health care and rising food and fuel prices are adding insult to injury,” he said. Rameez said  President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani were preparing to flee the country like Pervez Musharraf and Shaukat Aziz because their wealth was already lying in Swiss banks. He said it was Prime Minister Gilani’s duty to Parliament’s resolution on drone attacks was implemented in letter and spirit because people were becoming restless with increasing drone attacks.
