Pakistan sacrificed a lot in fight against terrorism, says Wajid

Lauding Pakistan’s role, Pakistani High Commissioner to United Kingdom (UK) Wajid Shams ul Hassan said a lot of sacrifices had been made by Pakistan in the ‘war on terror.’
Talking to a private news channel, he said more than 35,000 precious lives including civilians and armed forces personnel had been lost in the operations against terrorists and extremists, adding that more lives were being lost in the American drone attacks which were also increasing hate for America in the country.
He said that issues including Kashmir may be given special focus for resolution to ensure peace in the region, adding that terrorists were focusing and targeting Pakistani institutions after the bin Laden raid. He appreciated the reconciliation policy of President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani.
Answering a question, he said the Indian media was trying to damage Pakistan’s repute and its flawed and biased attitude was the main hurdle in the resolution of conflicts.
