Olympians from Sialkot were on Sunday honoured in a ceremony organised by Cantt Hockey Club at its ground.
Rich tributes were paid to Olympians of Sialkot that include Muhammad Asif Bajwa, who is also secretary Pakistan Hockey Federation, Zahid Sheikh, Shahnaz Sheikh, Manzoor Junior, Nasir Ali, Tariq Sheikh and Waqas Sharif.
Ch Muhammad Akhlaq (MPA) was the chief guest on the occasion, which was also attended by Olympians and internationals players who belongs to Sialkot. Khawaja Khawar, President District Hockey Association Sialkot, Ajmal Khan Lodhi, Pakistan team coach, Sabir Ali, Coach PHF Hockey Academy Sialkot, Zahid Sheikh, Chairman Cantt Horticulture Department, Haji Jabbar, Malik Waheed, Sajjad Yazdani, Imtiaz Ali were also present on the occasion.
On the occasion, Akhlaq distributed hockey equipment among the players and promised that synthetic field will be laid at Cantt Hockey Ground. Asif Bajwa said that all out effort will be made for the promotion and uplift of the national sport in Sialkot and different projects for the promotion of the game will be completed with the help and support of the Punjab Government.
