Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) central leader Ahsan Iqbal has said on Saturday that the Pakistan People’s Party-led coalition government was defying the Supreme Court orders. In a statement issued here, he said that that the PPP and the PML-Q had joined hands ‘to promote corruption in the country’. He added that his party would foil those tactics. Ahsan Iqbal said that the people of the country ‘were not ready to tolerate their corrupt practices and defiance of Supreme Court orders’.
He said that there were clear indications that the PPP and PML-Q leaders had been involved in the National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) scandal and that was reason that they were creating hurdles in the free and fair investigation process while violating the apex court’s directives in this regard. He said that his party had offered a number of suggestions for eradicating corruption from the country but the National Assembly Standing Committee on Law and Justice had turned deaf ear towards them.
