He was addressing a ceremony at Quaid-e-Azam University arranged by Mehran Council of Students in connection with Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai Day. Talking about the reformation of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), he said the process was underway and the Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Ch Nisar Ali Khan had already suggested some names. Chandio hoped that the matter would be resolved soon on merit and according to the law.
He said the Pakistan People’s Party had always struggled to strengthen federation, equality among the federating units and democratic institutions in the country, adding that no one would be allowed to derail the set up. The federal minister said, “It is our Pakistan and we all will have to make efforts for making it stronger and ensuring stability and prosperity.” About Bhutto reference case, he said Supreme Court’s opinion would expose those who hatched conspiracy against Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and democracy.
