GDA depy director caught taking Rs 1.6m bribe

Gujranwala Development Authority Deputy Director Khadim Hussain was arrested red-handed for accepting Rs 1.5 million bribe by the anti-corruption police along with a judicial magistrate and lodged an FIR against him, Town Planning Director Tariq Rauf and Assistant Director Tahir Ali Shah.
Reportedly, Rana Muhammad Arshed, the owner of a housing scheme, was forced by the GDA officers to bribe
Rs 6 million for the approval of his project. He informed the district and sessions judge that the GDA officers had been forcing him to pay Rs 6 million and that he had already paid Rs 500,000 to them.
The judge directed the formation of a raiding party headed by Judicial Magistrate Abdus Sattar and Anti-Corruption Inspector Muhammad Ramzan Kamboh, which arrested Khadim Hussain and recovered marked currency notes of Rs 1.5 million.
