An action committee has been formed to ‘save social security hospitals’, comprising of the representatives of PMA, SSDA, Patient Welfare Society, Doctor Council and Labour Federation. The step has been taken to stop the construction of the overhead bridge in front of the main gate of social security hospitals on Multan Road, which is actually a plan to block the entrance of the hospitals. Prof Dr Muhammad Ashraf Nizam has been made the chairman of the committee. Labour Federation’s Nazir Shahzad has been made the general secretary, SSDA’s Dr Nisar Qureshi and Nisar Bloch have been appointed as vice presidents, Dr Hammad Naeem Rana, Dr Naeem Shah Kazmi, Muhammad Hanif Ramay and PMA’s Dr Izhar Ahmed will be the members of the action committee, which would soon finalize the plan for the next protest on the issue.
