Sattar wants transfer of Overseas Ministry officials

Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and MQM leader Farooq Sattar on Friday called on Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani to inform him that some officials of his ministry were conspiring against him due to which he had not taken charge of office.
“Heading an MQM delegation, Dr Farooq Sattar met the prime minister and requested him to transfer Overseas Pakistanis Secretary Amjad Ali Khan, Joint Secretary Shafqat Rehman Ranjha and Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) Managing Director Habibur Rehman for conspiring against him,” a source told Pakistan Today on condition of anonymity.
The source said Sattar told Gilani that he had established a camp office in the OPF building two years back in his capacity as the minister, but the ministry had sent him a bill of Rs 4.6 million in tenancy, which was against all legal norms. The prime minister took a serious note of the situation and assured the minister that his reservations would be addressed within a few days, the source added.
A press release issued by the PM’s House quoted Gilani as saying that the government was pursuing a policy of reconciliation and taking all its coalition partners on board on all important national issues. The MQM delegation also included Minister for Ports and Shipping Babar Khan Ghauri and Minister of State Nadeem Ahsan.
