Meeting reviews livestock farms project

The first meeting to analyse the progress of livestock farms was held with Malik Ahmad Ali Aulakh, Punjab Minister for Livestock and Agriculture, in the chair. The main objective of the meeting was to discuss and exchange views on conservation of animal genetic resource, production of breeding bulls, research and human resource development.
Irfan Zahid delivered a comprehensive presentation and the positive aspects included conservation of indigenous breeds, production of quality semen for small farmer, farms available for research, training and demonstration while the negative aspects, like investment from public budget and public sector inefficiencies, might continue.
