If what Kim Barker claims in her book, The Taliban Shuffle, vis-à-vis Nawaz Sharif is true, excerpts from which were published in Pakistan Today on May 22, 2011, then I can’t say that I am surprised but as a Pakistani I am certainly embarrassed, to say the least.
However, if she is lying or even exaggerating, then PML(N) shouldn’t waste a second to sue her, and her employer along with the publisher of the book under the defamation laws, seeking a public apology, retraction of the story, and heavy damages. But I have a nagging feeling that the truth lies somewhere in the middle.
