Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that despite ‘a few shortcomings’, no body would be allowed to demoralise the armed forces.
Addressing a public gathering here on Thursday, he said that the US operation in Abbottabad and the attack on naval base were ‘indeed’ because of tragic security lapses. He said armed forces might be held accountable for those lapses but it must not be made a point to malign the institutions.
He also lauded Pak-China friendship and Chinese investment in Pakistan.
The CM also berated corruption and advocated accountability. He said he would face the music if anyone proved corruption by Punjab government.
Meanwhile, Shahbaz Sharif also announced to establish DHQ hospital in the Chiniot district with Rs 500 million and THQ hospitals at Lallian and Bhawana estimatedly with Rs 100 million each.
“We want to make Pakistan a truly Islamic welfare state and to achieve this goal we must follow the teaching of Quaid-i-Azam and Allama Mohammad Iqbal”, said the chief minister.
He also announced Rescue 1122 service and Ashiana Housing Scheme for the district.
He also inaugurated Chiniot-Pindi Bhattian, Faisalabad-Chiniot and Sargodha-Chiniot roads completed with Rs 6.5 billion.
