Nawaz lauded at Youm-e-Takbeer seminar

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif was lauded by his own party men at a seminar organised by the PML-N Lawyers Forum in connection with Yuam-e-Takbeer at the Lahore High Court (LHC) premises. Punjab Assembly (PA) Speaker Rana Iqbal, PML-N Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Naseer Bhutta and others attended the seminar.
Iqbal termed May 28 a historic day when Nawaz, rejecting pressure from all over the world, ordered conducting six atomic tests to give a befitting reply to India, which had conducted four atomic tests to pressurise Pakistan. Iqbal said that atomic bombs not only made the defence of the country unconquerable but were a gift for the whole Islamic World. The PA speaker said due to the nuclear capability of the country, our neighbour fears casting a bad eye towards Pakistan.
He said that the PML-N chief proved to be a patriot due to which he had to pay a heavy price and spend seven years in exile along with his family in Saudi Arabia and the UK. Iqbal said that Pakistan was a peace-loving country but the enemy should not underestimate its defence capabilities. Khawaja Mahmood Ahmed said that Pakistan was passing through a difficult time owing to US intervention in its affairs and drone attacks were being carried out on innocent people.
He said that the country needs a bold and undaunted leadership, which knows how to protect its interests. Mahmood said that Pakistan has lost much in the war against terror, as rulers have not been able to make brave decisions in the country’s interests. Naseer Bhutta said that in the present day world, weaker nations did not have any say. He said that Nawaz, by ordering to conduct atomic tests to counter India, infused a new spirit, bravery and courage in the nation but subsequent rulers made the nation highly demoralised by “selling the country’s interests to America.”
The PML-N MNA said that there is still a point of return and if the nation decides to stand up, the evil designs of the country’s enemies could be eliminated. Wali Khan said the solution to the country’s problems lies in getting rid of the US and abandoning the trend of obeying its policies and dictates. He said that sovereignty and independence of the country would be safer only when a courageous leadership was in power.

PML–N to celebrate Youm-e-Takbeer today
LAHORE – Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) is all set to celebrate Youm-e-Takbeer, the day when Pakistan became a nuclear power, on Saturday (today). PML-N has planned to organise special gatherings to highlight the importance of the day, as the party has the distinction of making the decision to carryout nuclear tests at Chaghi during the second tenure of Mian Nawaz Sharif as the country’s prime minister.
PML-N leaders and workers will hold several meetings at the districts level to pay tribute to the party’s leader, Mian Nawaz Sharif. Special prayers will also be offered for Pakistan’s prosperity. The PML-N sources said that Nazria-e-Pakistan Trust in collaboration with Tehrik-e-Pakistan Workers Trust would organise a special sitting at Aiwan-e-Karkunan-e-Tehrik-e-Pakistan.
Pakistan National Forum is also organising a seminar to mark the day in the backdrop of present challenges being faced by Pakistan, while MSF and MYO would also hold a public rally from Muslim League House to Minar-e-Pakistan. The day, May 28, is observed with passion to remember the historic nuclear tests in 1998, in reply to Indian explosions, that made Pakistan the seventh nuclear nation of the world and first Muslim state equipped with the nuclear arsenal.
