On 27 May, handful minor traders demonstrated to support the armed forces, a disturbing event had taken place on the previous day in Islamabad. A lady lecturer who questioned a serving army major for reckless driving thus endangering her life was promptly locked up for the night in the airport police station. Influential and perhaps the VIP-type Major with whom the minor altercation took place, had called the military police that handed over the lady lecturer to the police.
SHO Waqar, when questioned by the media, showed his utter helplessness in the presence of personnel of the military police. Since I learned about the event, I have been shaking with fear. The only question arising in mind is that if a major, whose rank one thought was junior and on which rank most army officers retired, was so powerful, what about the colonels and generals?
Is it not rather confusing when on one side demonstrations to win hearts and minds of the public are arranged, on the other, members of the armed forces demonstrate such despicable behaviour towards citizens, as was the case of the lady lecturer?
This Major Tabassum Sahib should act as a gentleman and tender an unqualified apology to the young lady. Sir, you would stand tall by doing it.

The SHO of Islamabad Airport Police Station and officers of the army responsible for reported confinement of a lady lecturer must not be spared. Under which law was this lady subjected to such shameful detention.
Theodore Roosevelt stated “No man is above the law and no man is below it, nor do we ask any man’s permission when we ask them to obey it”. This is what our religion also states and yet we allow individuals to violate the law in rude disregard of all ethics, morals and codes of discipline.
Why should the state allow criminals and individuals to abuse the law and subject this state and its citizens to such torment.
The serving major and his accomplices are not above the law and must be held accountable. It is this indiscipline and lawlessness which has landed us into deep trouble. Powerful individuals like Moonis Elahi, Ayaz Niazi and scores of other members of the ruling political elite and our bureaucracy have harmed this nation. All criminals, be they members of powerful elite, or men in uniform must pay for their crimes and excesses.

The major should be court martialled. Shame on him. These bastards have let 35000 people die and yet these mother fuckers think that by getting helpless lady lecturers arrested, they grow balls? Fuck you Pakistan army for producing these mother fuckers. They are called gentlemen cadets when they are in PMA. They should hence forth be called sick perverts.
