Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan Naib Amir Senator Professor Khurshid Ahmad, on Thursday, strongly condemned the government’s decision of another rise in electricity and gas tariff. This increase, he felt, will add to the woes of the already stressed people, suffering from surging inflation and the unbearable electricity load-shedding.
JI criticised the government of staying apathetic to the common man’s agony. Professor Khurshid stated that the tariff had frequently increased despite cries for relief.
While demanding an immediate withdrawal of the inexplicable rise Senator Khurshid asked parties, who had earlier withdrawn and later rejoined the government on the price-hike issue, to either get this increase undone or to halt playing political gimmicks.
