Govt functionaries set to resume official activities today

Government functionaries are set to resume official activities today (Friday), which had remained suspended for the past three days due to the demise of Hakim Ali Zardari, father of President Asif Ali Zardari.
Hakim Zardari, veteran politician of Sindh, had passed away last Tuesday at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) in Islamabad after prolonged illness. His funeral was held at his native town Nawabshah on Wednesday while the soyem was held on Thursday.
High-ups of the provincial government, including Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, provincial ministers and secretaries of different administrative departments, remained in Nawabshah till the soyem. They are likely to start returning to the capital from Thursday night, and would resume their duties on Friday.
Almost all departments, especially Finance as well as Planning and Development, nowadays are engaged in finalising the forthcoming fiscal year’s budget. The chief minister was also busy in holding final meetings with the authorities concerned regarding the budget.
