Five suicide attackers in the city

The top brass of the Punjab Police and top army officials held a meeting on Friday over security matters in which a comprehensive security plan was discussed. Security agencies reported they had arrested a suspect from outskirts of Lahore who informed them about presence of around five suicide bombers in the city.
The arrested suspect informed agency officials that suicide bombers might attack any cadet college located in Lahore Cantt. According to sources, army officers have been directed to further intensify patrolling of military police in Cantt and detailed checking at entry and exit points of the area. Sources said that six locations including the Rangers Headquarters could be targeted. Subsequently, Inspector General of Police Javed Iqbal forwarded written directions to make intense security measures in Lahore.
The IGP, in his letter to different departments, directed Lahore and Punjab Police to remain on high alert, given the new information. The IGP also directed Lahore and Punjab Police to search for an ambulance bearing registration number LXE-3778, which was stolen from outside the gate of the Sharif Medical Complex on May 22. The IGP suspects that terrorist could use the ambulance in carrying out any attack. Police and other law enforcement agencies have made special arrangements for foolproof security at mosques on Friday.
Security at Police Elite Schools at Bedian, Choong and Manawan was also put on high alert. Special police teams claimed to have arrested dozens of suspicious people in search operations from different areas of Lahore and shifted them to an unidentified location for interrogation. Mujahid Squad Force made intensive patrolling and intercepted suspicious cars and motorcycles. Police directed hotels and guesthouses owners to not give any room to people without computerised national identity cards (CNIC).
