Crackdown on land-grabbers in Hafizabad on cards

Two committees and a complaint cell have been constituted to get official and private land vacated from squatters and land grabbers. According to an official handout, a crackdown on land grabbers will be launched in the district within the next few days. The DCO will head a committee consisting of the DPO, the additional district collector, district public prosecutor, assistant commissioners concerned, the DSP and TMO.
Another committee for a crackdown on land grabbers was constituted under the chairmanship of additional district collector. The committee will consist of the SP investigations, the district public prosecutor and two notable citizens. The DCO has sought a detailed report about land grabbers and set up a complaint cell at District Complex under the supervision of General Assistant Revenue Allah Ditta Warriach.
The committee will be meeting every Saturday to reviews progress on the complaints. The DCO also directed TMOs to launch a result-oriented drive against encroachment in the district. Girl shot dead for honour: A girl was shot dead in the name of honour in village Wajwan near Hafizabad. Reports said that Shamim Kousar, daughter of Nusrallah, was engaged to Riaz Ahmad, but she eloped with her lover two days before her marriage.
On Thursday, she returned home. Riaz’s brother Asif was livid when he found out that Shamim had run away from her home. On Thursday afternoon, an infuriated Asif entered Nusrallah’s home and opened fire at Shamim. She was injured and taken to hospital where she died.
PATWARI CAUgHT Red Handed TAKING BRIBE: A Patwari” was caught red handed taking bribe from a man. Nisar Ahmad has submitted an application before the sessions judge, stating that Patwari Munawar Ahmad was demanding Rs 10000 for transfer of property to his name. The session judge ordered Magistrate Sadat Rasool and Anti-Corruption Circle Officer Rana Muhammad Ramzan to take action. They caught him red handed when he was taking Rs 10,000 from Nisar.
