Cathay Pacific Airways today launched its latest Sustainable Development Report outlining the various sustainability measures undertaken by the airline in 2010. The report incorporates Cathay Pacific Group’s subsidiaries based in Hong Kong such as Dragonair, Cathay Pacific Catering Services, Hong Kong Airport Services, Vogue Laundry Services and Cathay Pacific Holidays as well as data on 60 percent owned Air Hong Kong.
For the third consecutive year, the report achieved an A+ rating – the highest possible – in the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) guidelines, an externally verified and internationally accepted benchmark for reporting on economic, environmental and social impacts. The report has in-depth coverage of performance in 2010, a year which saw a number of achievements and initiatives that moved the company closer towards its goal of achieving sustainable aviation.
The theme of the report – Our Shared Journey – conveys the value Cathay Pacific places on its stakeholders, and highlights the airlines commitment to engage with and respond to stakeholders opinions in an accountable and transparent way.
