The Aga Khan University (AKU) will mark the ‘World No Tobacco Day’ on May 31,
The AKu announced on Friday. A seminar would be organised on the occasion in collaboration with the National Alliance for Tobacco Control, Pakistan Medical Association and Pakistan Chest Society. The AKU said that Pakistan is a signatory to the World Health Organisation Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FTCT). It is imperative to implement laws in order to reduce the burden of tobacco-related mortality and morbidity. Tobacco smoke pollution in public places including hotels, cafes and restaurants is said to be high throughout the country.
