Prevention Campaign initiated by Traffic Police in Lahore was meeting its objectives as the Traffic Police had registered cases against 72 vehicles violating the law by loading iron rods and other materials, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO), Lahore Syed Mubeen Ahmad said in a handout issued to media. The vehicles barred were carrying materials extending out of the vehicular body, he said.
In a move to end problems causing accidents, the traffic police had acted against 11 vehicles loaded with uncovered dusty materials. Moreover, many vehicles were barred from entering the city on non-compliance with laws.
The CTO said that the traffic wardens, besides acting against vehicles not complying with laws, were also briefing their drivers on how to avoid actions that could cause accidents.Mubeen asked the owners of trucks, rickshaws, bull-carts and other commercial vehicles not to overload and carry materials protruding out of the vehicle’s body to avoid accidents.
