Ranger martyred in PNS attack buried

Khalil Ahmed, a ranger who was martyred in the PNS Mehran attack, was laid to rest in his native graveyard at village Thattawali, Baddomalhi, Narowal, with military honour, in the presence of hundreds of mourners from all walks life.

Narowal DCO Ali Ahmed Kamboh, Rangers Colonel Nadeem Ahmed Karim and Deputy Superintendent Rangers Muhammad Tariq were also among those who attended the funeral. They saluted the martyred ranger and paid him rich tributes. Khalil Ahmed’s parents said their beloved son sacrificed his life to save the motherland from terrorists.

JOURNALISTS DEMAND ROBBERS’ ARREST: The Muradpur police have failed to find any clue to the robbery in the house of a Sialkot-based news agent-cum-journalist, Humayun Iqbal Malik.

As many as four dacoits looted gold ornaments, cash, mobile phones, electronics and other valuables worth Rs 3 million at gunpoint from the house of Humayun Iqbal Malik in Model Town, Sialkot city, eight months ago. The intruders stormed into his house, took all the family members hostage and collected valuables.

Later, the outlaws locked the journalist and his family members into a room and fled away with the booty. Meanwhile, local journalists, news agents and hawkers took out a rally, demanding immediate arrest of the dacoits. They also appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, IG police Punjab, RPO Gujranwala region and the DPO Sialkot to take effective measures to halt the crimes in the area by taking local people into confidence.
