Militants attacked check post near Miranshah, the main town of the agency, resulting in no casualties, officials said.
According to security officials, the miscreants fired a rocket at military post which missed its target and no injuries or casualties occurred.
In response, security forces shot fires but militants succeed to escape.
After the attack, security forces besieged the area and started search operation, official said.
