The Punjab Fisheries Department on Thursday launched the fish seed stocking campaign in natural water bodies of the province.
Punjab Fisheries Director General Muhammad Ashraf formally inaugurated the campaign by releasing 25,000 seed of fish varieties including rohu, mori, thaila and grass carp at Head Balloki and River Ravi.
Speaking on the occasion, the fisheries DG said that due to aquatic pollution, fish species once very common are now facing the danger of extinction.
