Three matches of the Senior Inter District Cricket Tournament were played at different venues of the city here Thursday.
At LCCA Cricket Ground, East Zone Whites won the toss and elected to bat first. They were bowled out for 153 in their first inning. Aamir Rasheed Butt and Hafiz M Omer scored fifties for their team while Asif Ashfaq took five wickets for East Zone Blues. The East Zone Blues scored 146 for five at stumps in their first inning.
Abid Ali remained top scorer with 73 runs. At Model Town Greens, West Zone Blues scored 301 for all in their first inning against West Zone Whites. Ahmed Dar scored 90, M Sohail 78 and M Saad scored 61 runs for their team.
Ali Tipu Sultan took eight wickets for West Zone Whites. In reply, West Zone Whites scored 118 for 4 at stumps. Imran Maqsood was not out on 34. In third match at Aligarh ground, North Zone Blues scored 228 for 5 by batting first in their first inning. Aamir Iqbal was top scorer with 81 not out runs. In reply North Zone Whites scored 89 for 1 at stumps in their first inning.
