Capital police to keep tabs on citizens

In the wake of increasing threats of terrorist’s attacks, the capital police have started conducting fresh survey in all jurisdictions of its police stations with the purpose to get first hand information about the tenants or others residing in various areas. This was decided in a meeting presided by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Tahir Alam Khan, Superintendent of Police (SP) Saddar Dr Khuram Rasheed, SP City Muhammad Ilyas, SP Rural Umer Hyat, SP Industrial Area Ishaq Warraich, SP Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) Ch Liaqat Ali and by the station house officers (SHO) of all police station, the police spokesman said.
Following the directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Wajid Ali Khan Durrani to make city more secure through effective measures, the SSP directed all police officials to conduct survey in their respective areas and gather information about the residents. He said new forms had been introduced that would maintain complete information about the history of people permanently or temporarily residing in a locality.
