Terrorist attacks can’t intimidate Pakistan: PM

Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani on Tuesday said Pakistan could not be intimidated through terrorism. He was talking to newsmen during his visit to PNS Mehran which was attacked by terrorists on Sunday night. The PM was briefed on the attack. He saw the aircraft destroyed by the terrorists. He also went to PNS Shifa to enquire after those injured in the terrorist attack.
The PM said no one could intimidate Pakistan through terrorism. He praised those who resisted the terrorists and made the national installations safe. He termed the situation alarming, saying a meeting of the Defence Cabinet Committee had been called in this regard. A high security had been arranged during his visit. The law-enforcing personnel had been deployed at Shahrah-e Faisal while the army helicopters were busy in air surveillance.
APP adds: Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani on Tuesday said the challenges confronting the country today required greater unity among the people of all political shades in order to fight the menace of terrorism and extremism.Gilani was talking to Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan, Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah and Interior Minister Rehman Malik at the Governor House after his visit to the PNS Mehran base and PNS Shifa Hospital.
“The courage and bravery shown by the officers and jawans of Pakistan Navy, Pakistan Rangers and police is a reflection of our nation’s resolve to eliminate terrorism from our soil”, he said.
