A committee would be formed to discuss the row between the Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) management and workers and come up with a solution as soon as possible. Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah held a meeting with the management of the KESC at the Chief Minister’s House on Monday. The meeting was attended by Interior Minister Rehman Malik, Sindh IGP Fayyaz Leghari, Karachi CCPO Saud Mirza, KESC Chief Executive Officer Tabish Gauhar and other officials of the power utility.
The chief minister underlined the need to urgently resolve the issue so that citizens, who are facing long hours of power outages, could be facilitated. The chief minister said that there must be the management and the union must reach an understanding in the larger interest of the country. The interior minister told the KESC management to take appropriate measures for ending the workers’ protest.
