The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) will resolve the Kashmir issue and also protect the rights of the people of that region when it comes into power, the party’s chief Altaf Hussain said during a meeting at MQM’s London Secretariat. He was speaking with his party activists, who hail from Kashmir and live in different cities of the United Kingdom, according to a statement issued by MQM on Monday. He said that struggling for the protection of the rights of downtrodden people and leading a movement for this cause is not an easy job.
The MQM chief said that his party is practically striving to safeguard the interests of 98 percent poor- and middle-class people of the country. Hussain said that the feudal system is the basic reason behind the present economic crisis being faced by the country. He recalled that the MQM had been contesting general elections in Pakistan for many years but none of his relatives is given preference, instead honest, hardworking and devoted people from the party are always given opportunities. He said the democracy has not flourished in the country due to the politics of interests.
CONDOLENCE: The MQM Rabita Committee has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the death of Aziz Pir Khan, a relative of party chief Altaf Hussain.
