It is evident through the recent increase in crime and terrorism incidents that the city of Karachi is in dire need for an increase in the number of police personnel. According to some estimates only 29,000 personnel are present to provide security to a population of above 15 million.
It is also evident that there is a nexus between the criminal elements and terrorists in the city. If the law and order of Karachi is restored, the terrorists will also be flushed out in the process. It is imperative for the government to recruit more personnel, so the security situation can be addressed.
