Lust for wealth and property has affected human relations very adversely. People think that by gathering wealth they would be able to buy every thing and do attain eternal power. Even the most learned and most pious men have fallen a prey to lust of wealth. Love of money makes men work day in and day out to accumulate wealth at the cost of their health. People run madly after worldly gains. Hazrat Usman (RA) was a wealthy merchant but he spent his money on charitable causes. He was always generous and charitable to the poor.
We should earn money by fair and halal means. Love of money is by and large a negative passion because it generally makes us forget rules of Islam and fear of God. Money spent in the name of Allah and in the service of mankind wins unbounding blessing of Allah. We should urge upon the people to spend their wealth to meet the needs of the poor and the down trodden.
