Firdous for Pak-KSA co-op in education sector

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq said Pakistan and Saudi Arabia can benefit from each other in the field of education, particularly women’s education. She was speaking at the first ever Women University in Saudi Arabia, Princes Nora Bint-e-Abdul Rahman University Riyadh. She was received by the Vice Minister for Education (Girls) Dr Nourah Al Faiz and President of the University Dr Huda Bint-e-Muhammad Al Ameel.
Awan said that the need for greater cooperation amongst the women of Muslim countries for preserving their Islamic entity and counter the onslaught against Islam was the need of the day. She appreciated the pioneering role of Nora University in promoting education. She was briefed on various departments of the university, which is considered to be the world’s largest female only university. Later talking to Saudi TV, Awan said there was a dire need for strong media cooperation between the Muslim media, adding that the objective of her visit was to promote cooperation in various fields.
Talking to the Pakistani community at the residence of Asghar Qureshi, member, Board of Governors for Overseas Pakistanis, the federal minister said that the Pakistani community in KSA was doing a great job by contributing in the development of Saudi Arabia and boosting the economy of Pakistan. She advised the community to abide by the rules and regulations of Saudi Arabia and be responsible citizens.
Earlier, while addressing a press conference in Riyadh, Awan said no member of Osama bin Laden’s family had been handed over to the US and the matter would be dealt in accordance with international law.
