Resolutions can’t stop drones: Shahbaz

After Wikileaks’ disclosures, Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday refrained from making direct criticism against America and chose careful words by stating “foreigners are not giving importance to the sacrifices and after the Abbottabad incident we are being given a message that we are not their friend, but parasites for them. He was speaking at a function held in connection with the distribution of gold medals among the Pakistan Movement workers and their heirs at Aiwan-e-Karkunan-e-Tehrik-e-Pakistan Saturday. He warned if the nation did not rose up, drone attacks would continue while the blood of innocent citizens would continue to bleed.
He added drone attacks would not be stopped through parliamentary resolutions or sit-in protests. The entire nation would have to be united to stop them. Shahbaz pointed out that Pakistan was achieved after numerous sacrifices just to make it an Islamic welfare state where everyone enjoyed equal rights. “But today, the outsiders are bent upon snatching our freedom and subjugating us while our dignity and honour was being marred just for a few coins,” he deplored. He reiterated the government had decided to renounce the foreign aid.
