Pleasant winds bring back customers

Pleasant winds with rain on Saturday brought customers back to Sunday Bazaars, which helped sales to increase. The on and off presence of City District Government Lahore (CDGL) staff at the bazaars gave vendors a chance to overcharge customers. Vendor Mudassar said that end of the heat wave helped sales to increase and more customers came for shopping. A slight decrease was observed in prices of vegetables while fruit prices remained stable. Customers were compelled to buy several items outside Sunday Bazaars on higher prices because of their non-availability at the bazaars. Customers also complained of bad quality of vegetables at Sunday Bazaars.
Mango, Apple, Melon and Strawberry prices stayed fixed at Rs 50 to 85 per kg, Rs 70 to 150 per kg, Rs 20 to 35 per kg and Rs 80 to 90 per kg respectively. Water melon was sold at Rs 10-13 per kg. Peach rates remained Rs 70 to 90 per kg. Lokat prices stayed at 70 to 90 per kg. Apples and Lokat were missing from the market. The ginger prices went down by Rs 10 to 15 per kg and came at per 70 to 80 per kg. Potato prices went slightly up and it was sold at Rs 20 to 24 per kg. The price of onion was stables at Rs 5 to 10 per kg. Tomato declined from Rs 6 to 12 per kg to Rs 5 to 10 per kg. Garlic price was gained by Rs 20 per kg and fixed at Rs 160 to 175 per kg and sold up to Rs 200 per kg.
Ginger China reduced by Rs 10 to 5 per kg and fixed at Rs 70 to 85 per kg and sold at Rs 100 per kg. Spinach price stable at Rs 4 to 5 per kg, while outside the bazaars sold at Rs 40 per kg. Brinjal price was reduced by Rs 2 per kg and fixed at Rs 6 to 8 per kg from Rs 8 to 12 per kg but sold at Rs 20 per kg. Cucumber was fixed at Rs 14 to 20 per kg. Pea’s price was fixed Rs 30 to 35 per kg but sold at Rs 50 per kg. Ladyfinger price was fixed at Rs 20 to 26 per kg from Rs 25 to 35 per kg and sold at Rs 30 per kg. Carrot rates fixed at Rs 24 to 28 per kg. Radish price was fixed at Rs 8 to 10 per kg from Rs 4 to 5 per kg. Lemon rates were gained by Rs 50 to 65 per kg and reached at Rs 130 to 190 per kg from Rs 80 to 125 per kg. Carrot, Radish, Spinach were not seen at bazaar.
