Citizens get respite from heat

The citizens got relief from the sweltering heat as the maximum temperature in the city fell to 34 degrees Celsius on Sunday. The Met Office predicted isolated rain today (Monday) in Lahore, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, Multan, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. However, hot and dry weather is expected elsewhere in the country. The citizens rushed to the zoo and other recreational places to make the most of the pleasant weather.
However, Aimon, amongst a group of students who had chosen the day to visit the Walled City, said, “We chose today because the weather improved yesterday but the trip wasn’t a particularly pleasant experience due to the heat.” While young boys were also seen rushing to the Lahore Canal to get a dip, perhaps out of the need to have fun. Standing amongst them Moosa said he comes to the Lahore Canal every Sunday with his friends to take a dip during Summer. “It relieves stress,” he says. The maximum temperature was recorded 50 degrees Celsius in Turbat.
