ST holds protest against terrorism and load shedding

The Sunni Tehreek (ST) held a protest against terrorism, load shedding, the US operation in Abbottabad and American interference in Pakistan, outside the Lahore Press Club on Friday. ST Lahore President Mujahid Abdur Rasool led the protest. Protesters were carrying placards and banners inscribed with anti-US slogans.
The protest went on for around one hour in which protesters chanted slogans against the government for its inability to protect the sovereignty of Pakistan. Addressing the protesters, Mujahid said that the federal government has failed to bring peace to the country. “Terrorists and the worst enemies of humanity roam around the country while rulers have confined themselves to their fortified houses and offices while lawlessness, food inflation and corruption have already choked the people,” the ST leader said.
He said that there could be no peace in the country without across the board justice and implementation of the rule of law. Mujahid warned of a countrywide protest movement if the government remains apathetic about sufferings of the common man.
