It has been observed at many an occassion that the police seem to use unreasonable force to control a crowd. As per procedure, police can only use minimum force and that is only when it is required. Even baton-charging is to be aimed only below the waist. But it has been observed that police themselves resort to unruly methods while controlling a situation. It is important that as the police are assigned with the duty to protect the life and property of citizens and an out of control mob needs to be curtailed, the police should adhere to the rules while using force.
