The draft of new alternate energy policy is ready and will be launched next month, said, Alternate Energy Development Board (AEDB) Chief Executive Officer Arif Alauddin has stated. Speaking to media at the conclusion of POGEE Conference 2011 on ‘Energy Solutions’ at Karachi Expo Centre on the third day, he said that the new expanded alternate energy policy also accommodates other renewable resources like bagasse, hydroelectric and other innovative technologies, besides wind and solar, to give richer opportunities to investors.
The new incentive of net metering will enable the household to install solar or wind energy unit on his top floor and sell it to national grid of utility company when he does not need it and buy when needs it, he added.
