The graduating students of all medical colleges will be provided at least Grade 16 jobs in the Sindh Health Department or the dispensaries being run under the City District Government Karachi (CDGK).
This was announced by Sindh Health Minister Dr Sagheer Ahmed while addressing, as the chief guest, at a reception organised by the Old Boys Hamdard Students Organisation and the Citizens Social Forum in honour of the teaching faculty of Hamdard University.
“Shortly, the successful students of Hamdard University besides all other medical universities of the province will be appointed in the Sindh Health Department and the CDGK-run dispensaries on 16- or 17-grade posts,” said Ahmed.
The provincial health minister also said that efforts will be put in place to establish more medical institutions in the province.
“In order to fill vacant positions in government’s Unani Dawakhana, the health department has recently written a letter to the Sindh Public Services Commission (SPSC),” he said. Ahmed said that Pakistan has been able to revive herbal medication. “Hakeem Mohammad Saeed contributed a lot towards herbal medication in the country,” he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vice President Khalid Tawab said a majority of countries around the world were introducing herbal medical system for treatment but in Pakistan, a few families are contributing in herbal medication.
