One killed, four injured in two bomb attacks in Nowshera

At least one person was killed while four others including three policemen injured in two different bomb attacks here on Thursday.
In the first incident, a passerby was killed while three others including two policemen were injured when a roadside planted bomb exploded near a police van in the city.
According to city police officer Imtiaz Khan, the incident occurred at Jahangira Chowk where a police van was on routine patrol and came under attack of a remote controlled bomb device.
In another incident, one policeman was injured when some unknown persons threw a hand grenade at a refugees’ registration center.
According to police, the attack took place when dozens of people were gathered outside the registration office established in the Jalozai Camp for Afghan refugees in Naushehra district.
The camp in charge Noor Akbar told that the grenade was hurled at a police party present for security but only one policeman got injured while the window pans of more than one dozen vehicles were also broken.
The unknown culprits fled from the sight when other policemen started aerial firing. The injured was shifted to the district hospital and police and other security officials started search operation in the area and arrested 10 suspects.
On Wednesday, at least 20 militants and two policemen were killed and several others injured during fire exchange between militants and policemen as some 100 militants attacked a security check post in Peshawar.
