The developed countries including United States and Britain should persuade their investors to invest in Pakistan, as one of root causes of the growing militancy in the country is poverty, Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad told British Foreign and Commonwealth Office Minister Alistair Burt on Wednesday.
According to a Governor’s House statement, the UK Minister along with his delegation met with Dr Ebad. In order to curb militancy in Pakistan, the developed countries should come up with investment for the creating employment opportunities in the country,” the governor said.
“A stable and prosperous Pakistan would contribute towards regional and international peace,” he added. The governor said that Britain understands the Pakistan’s viewpoint.
Alistair Burt assured the governor that Britain would support investment in Pakistan and also provide assistance in various sectors including higher education.
GOVERNOR VISITS SAUDI CONSULATE: Dr Ebad visited the Saudi Consulate on Wednesday and met with Consul General Falah Mohammed Al-Ruhail.
On the occasion, he condemned the death of diplomat Hassan al-Kahatani in a fresh act of terrorism near the Consulate.
