Doctors’ strike going aggressive

The strike of the Provincial Doctors’ Association (PDA) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was going aggressive with every passing day as, on the third day of strike, they suspended duties in the Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC). The strikes in the Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH) and Ayub Teaching Hospital (ATH) Abbottabad were already being observed from last Monday and boycott of duties would be started in the Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) from today.
The strike would continue till the end of the doctors’ problems and a complete strike would be observed on Thursday (Today), PDA President Shah Sarwar said while addressing a press conference at the Peshawar Press Club on Wednesday. He added the strikes were observed after completing the deadline given by the PDA to the provincial government on May 10 but the government was using tactics to delay its promises.
He said that no tactics would be tolerated and added that the third phase of the strike would start on Friday. He further said, “FCPS-I qualified 500 trainee medical officers should be inducted in different teaching hospitals as they have been jobless for last six months. He said the government should give due rights, incentives and equal package to the doctors and be serious to implement the charter of demands.
