Bahawalpur were crowned the Inter Division Youth U-14 Boys Athletics champions here on Wednesday at Punjab Stadium, Lahore. The event was organised by the Sports Board Punjab and Bahawalpur aggregated 49 points, Sahiwal earned second with 44.5 points while Lahore secured 25 points to seize third position of the Championship.
Hamza from Lahore won the title of 200m race completing the distance in 23:09 seconds, Mohammed Luqman from Bahawalpur secured second position while Nazir Iqbal from Bahawalpur attained the third position. In shot putt, Mohammed Rizwan from Bahawalpur won first position with a throw of 11:60m. Husnain Nazeer from Bahawalpur secured second position whereas Mohammed Akram from Multan got third position.
In 400m race, Nasir Iqbal from Bahawalpur got first position clocking 11:08 seconds. Mohammed Khizar from Sahiwal was second and Ghulam Jabbar from Sahiwal third. In 100m race event, Hamza Ali from Lahore was the winner with 56.8 seconds, Mohammed Luqman from Bahawalpur was second while Kamran Ali from Lahore was third.
Director General Sports Punjab Jamshed Daudi was the chief guest in the closing ceremony. The Cash prize of Rs.5000 was given to the first position holders, Rs.3000 to second and Rs.2000 to third position holders.
