Punjab School Education Dept allows summer camps

The Punjab School Education Department allowed on Tuesday all government and private-sector schools to organise summer camps during the upcoming summer vacations. According to sources, the department allowed summer camps considering the educational needs of students.
The department instructed that only science subjects will be taught at summer campus and its duration will be three hours from 7am to 10am and besides these timings, no government or private-sector school will be allowed to hold summer camps. They said that for private schools, the management will arrange generators and besides this, no one will force parents or students to join summer campus, as it is students’ choice whether they join these campus or not.
Separately, rumours about summer vacations were making rounds among students and parents but department officials said that notification in this regard has not been issued and it is likely that schools across the province will be closed from the first week of June.
