Price of 20kg flour bag down by Rs 15

The Pakistan Flour Mills Association (PFMA) has announced a reduction of Rs 15 in the price of 20-kilogram flour bag from Wednesday (today) to pass on the benefit of lower prices of new wheat crop to the consumers. The association announced the new price after it had a meeting with the Punjab Food Minister Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor at the Civil Secretariat here on Tuesday.
Food Secretary Irfan Elahi and PFMA Chairman Asim Ahmad Raza also attended the meeting. Asim Ahmad Raza while talking to reporters said that prices of wheat had lowered in the open market after arrival of new crop and the association decided to pass on this benefit to the consumers. He said earlier ex-mill price of 20 kilograms flour bag was Rs 565 and retail price was Rs 578 per bag.
After the reduction new ex-mill price of 20 kilograms bag will be Rs 550 and retail price Rs 563 per bag, Asim added. Meanwhile, the Punjab Food Minister Abdul Ghafoor said that reduction in the prices of flour will prove a big relief to the poor masses. He said keeping the prices of flour within the access of poor man was priority of the provincial government.
He also appreciated the cooperation extended by the PFMA in this regard.
