Usman, son of Al Qaeda top commander Abu Akasha, is included amongst the 12 killed in US drone attacks against militants in Khushhali Torikhel area of Mir Ali Tehsil on Monday. The US drone attacks focused on a vehicle and a compound where Usman was present with other militants. Seven militants were killed inside the house and five on a vehicle.
Usman is the third son of Abu Akasha who was killed in US drone attacks. Abu Bakar, the oldest, was killed in Anghar keley North Waziristan in 2006 and Mohammad was killed in another strike. Abu Akasha had sustained serious injuries in the drone strikes and maintains a low profile since then. Both Yahya Al Laibi and Abu Akasha are counted amongst top Al Qaeda leaders camping in North Waziristan.
