Lahore Commissioner Nadeem Hassan Asif on Tuesday approved the installation of 50 new water filtration plants to ensure clean drinking water for citizens. He was chairing a meeting to discuss the issue with the WASA MD, officials of the C&W department and the Lahore district coordination officer (DCO).
The pumps will start working within six months. The commissioner directed Lahore DCO Ahad Cheema to monitor installation of the water filtration plants in Nishtar, Ravi, Allama Iqbal, Shalimar, Aziz Bhatti and Data Ganj Bakhsh towns. Asif instructed the DCO to make sure that installation of the filtration plants was completed within time.
