Child labour

Pakistan is facing a lot of social problems these days but some are very common, which are destroying our society and also our economy, like child labour, poverty, illiteracy, population growth, terrorism, smuggling, drug abuse etc. Child labour is one of the most common problems. God has given human beings the boon of wisdom and discretion to think upon the signs of the universe and to draw conclusions. Children are the flowers of heaven. A major section of our country’s population is leading life below the poverty-line, deprived of basic necessities like clothing, shelter, food, education and medication.
Our people are not aware of the importance of education. Class-based education system is another reason for increasing child labour. The increase in population also affects the child labour. The government has not put its laws into practice to stop child labour in our country. Awareness must be raised and parents should pay attention to the education of their children. Child labour laws should be strictly put into practice.
The present government in Pakistan has made elementary education compulsory. Along with this, the government has distributed free books in primary schools so that parents, who cannot afford their children’s school expenses, send their children to schools. This decision must be acted upon at all levels.
