Botanists from all over the country has gathered at the reunion gala of the Government College University (GCU) Botany Department Alumni Association held at the GCU Bokhari Auditorium Lawns on Monday. GCU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Ikramul Haq was the chief guest at the reunion, which was marked by musical performances and poetry recitation by the faculty members and the alumni of the GCU Botany Department. Prof Haq said that teachers were generations’ architects and only the most intelligent and competent members of the intelligentsia should be allowed to qualify for this profession. “Days are not far, when the PhD would be the minimum required qualification for the appointment of a lecturer in a university,” he added.
