Some unidentified miscreants blew up a 16-inch diameter gas pipeline with explosives here on Tuesday.
According to media reports, the pipeline carrying gas supplying from Kandhkot Gas Field to Guddu Power House was blown up near Kandhkot.
Fire erupted at the site of the explosion which also engulfed the nearby high voltage electricity cables, resulting in suspension of electricity to a large area.
After the incident, police and Rangers have cordoned off the area a and barred people from going near the site.
Meanwhile, gas supply to Guddu Power House suspended after the blast.
